Director of Kids & Family Ministry
Position Description – Director of Kids & Family Ministry
Mission
Reaching one more life with Jesus by creating environments for life transformation
Responsibilities
-
Raise up, train, and equip volunteers to love Jesus, serve children, and teach and model the Christian faith

Engage with parents and families to equip them to disciple their children in the Christian faith
-
Continue to grow & develop the current programs already in place to reach kids (Sunday mornings Kids Creek, Wonderful Wednesdays, Camp Messiah, Breakfast with Santa, Easter Jam, and more)

Advocate for and invest in the children in the community

Attend weekly staff meetings

Manage Kids Ministry budget

Potential responsibilities, depending on passions and gifts, could include but would not be limited to:
-
Plan events and seminars where families can connect with one another, receive parental education, and spiritually grow
-
Research and curate a growing list of resources for parents and kids to grow in faith and wisdom
-
Pursuing community work in spaces such as youth mentorship/tutoring, school visits etc.

Experiment with new, innovative ways to reach children with the Gospel (eg. Online engagement, digital media, backyard VBS)

Foster and cultivate partnerships with local schools and other organizations

Qualifications
-
A personal relationship with Jesus and a heart for church and community ministry
-
Self-starter, motivated, and innovative
-
Preferred 2 years’ experience leading children’s ministry
-
Dynamic up-front communicator
-
Ability to recruit, equip, and oversee many volunteers
-
Event planning experience, both large and small
-
Excellent communication and organizational skills
